Ventilation
Insulation without ventilation can trap moisture. When we insulate walls or the attic, we fit the ventilation the current standards ask for, at no extra cost to you.

That can mean roof vents, wall vents, or mechanical extract in wet rooms. The survey and the insulation being fitted decide what's needed. We don't sell ventilation as an add-on.
Bathroom and kitchen exhaust fans can also sit with energy-efficient lighting where they're needed. Draught proofing often travels with the same job. It's still part of the fully funded Warmer Homes works for qualifying households.
If your home already has adequate ventilation, the survey won't invent extra kit. You get what the house needs to stay warm and dry after insulation.
Who it's for
- Homes getting wall or attic insulation under Warmer Homes
- Houses that need vents or extract to meet current standards
- Owner-occupiers on a qualifying payment, home built before 2006
What to expect
- Ventilation specified alongside your insulation, not as a separate job you pay for
- Roof, wall or mechanical vents, depending on the house
- Fitted during the same works where possible
You'll still need to meet the scheme rules. Check if you qualify before you apply.

What measures are covered?
We install cavity wall, internal wall, external wall and attic insulation, plus ventilation. Windows, heat pumps and solar PV are sometimes included where a survey shows they're needed, alongside other approved works.
What happens during the home survey?
Once your application is submitted, SEAI arranges a survey of your home to confirm exactly which measures you qualify for. It's carried out on their behalf, at no cost to you.
