Better Energy Communities
This is SEAI's community retrofit programme. It supports upgrades across homes and community buildings, not a single household working alone.
Projects need to show a community benefit, a mix of measures, and a way to fund the work alongside the SEAI support. Homes built after 2006 can't be included. Partnerships between public, private and community groups are welcome.
The programme runs as a competitive annual call. Get in touch if you'd like to talk about an application.

What can be funded
- Building fabric upgrades

What a strong project looks like
- Clear community benefit
- More than one measure, not a single-focus project
- A mix of sustainable solutions
- A clear roadmap and the ability to deliver
- Justified energy savings
What isn't funded
- Projects without a community benefit
- Single-element or renewables-only projects
- Audit or monitoring-only projects
- Homes built after 2006
