You can download the SEAI Better Energy Warmer Homes application form here. It still needs your signature and a stamp from your local Department of Social Protection office. Get in touch if you'd rather we post or email the pack to you.
01Fuel Allowance
Fuel Allowance is a payment under the National Fuel Scheme to help heat your home in winter. It's paid to one person in the household. If you receive Fuel Allowance, you may qualify for the Better Energy Warmer Homes Scheme at no cost. You'll still need proof of the payment when you apply.
02Jobseeker's Allowance
6+ months, with a child under 7
Jobseeker's Allowance is for people who are unemployed, capable of work and passing a means test. For the Warmer Homes Scheme you need to have been on Jobseeker's Allowance for more than 6 months, with a child under 7. Your local Intreo centre can confirm if you qualify for the payment itself.
03Working Family Payment
Working Family Payment is a weekly tax-free payment for low-income employees with children. You must have at least one child under 18, or under 22 in full-time education, who you support financially. It's for employees, not self-employed people. If you receive it, you may qualify for free Warmer Homes upgrades.
04One-Parent Family Payment
One-Parent Family Payment is for people under 66 who are raising a child without the support of a partner. You must meet the Department of Social Protection criteria and pass a means test. If you receive this payment, you may qualify for the Warmer Homes Scheme.
05Domiciliary Care Allowance
Domiciliary Care Allowance is a monthly payment for a child under 16 with a severe disability who needs substantially more care than other children of the same age. It isn't means tested. If you receive it, you may qualify for free Warmer Homes upgrades.
06Carer's Allowance
and you live with the person you care for
Carer's Allowance is a means-tested payment for people on a low income who care for someone who needs support because of age, disability or illness. For the Warmer Homes Scheme you must live in the same home as the person you care for, and you'll need a completed Carer's Allowance certification form.
